A Baking Experiment

My friend Emily told me that her family made cornbread by mixing cornbread batter with yellow cake batter and I've been wanting to try it ever since. My mom was a little hesitant, but is quite supportive of my culinary explorations. I decided to go with a honey-butter inspired frosting: butter, mascarpone, powdered sugar, and honey.
It was quite delicious--very corn bready, however moister than regular cornbread but still a little crumbly.

Yum! I'm going to make this. In the fall, once it's OK to eat chili again.

Haha, I am so glad you made this. Also I feel a little guilty since I heard about this from someone else, told you about and have as of yet not even tried it myself. But that frosting sounds delicious, I will have to give it a try when I actually get around to baking again.
